right now I currently have the van der hagen razor. It's a nice mild shaver. thinking about picking up a Gillette blue tip razor

Thanks, but two is two more that I should be shaving with. Currently well-stocked on Kronas.

For awhile, I was purchasing razors just to be purchasing. I remember ordering a Flare Tip and the next day a Flare Tip arrived ... but it wasn't the one that I ordered the night before. :) Funny how that happens. Oh, and by the way, I'm not a collector, I'm a user, every weeks I use two or three different razors. My rotation razors are the ones that yell "Pick Me" "Pick Me". And I listen.. ;)

    Ebony EJ de89.

Haven't used it in years, which is a shame. It's a great razor--it just doesn't work as well for my beard type as others.

Started my eldest son with it, and the plan was to keep on going down the line. I've since decided on starting my boys on Q Shaves--dirt cheap and adjustable, so they'll know how aggressive they like their razors when they're ready to make a more permanent purchase.

I don't really like having a razor rotation, so I've got to figure out what to do with this poor razor that time forgot.

My first DE was a birth year tech.
While not in regular rotation it gets an occasional revisit.
Still rockin it for a 53 year old razor!!!

I paid $1.49 for my Schick Krona in 1969 and shaved with it for 50 yrs until it finally broke.

    See...you should've bought a Gillette.
They don't wear out so quick.:p

That’s my problem now! I’ve bought too many Gillettes! My son introduced me to ‘wet shaving’. Is that what they call what I’ve been doing for last 50 yrs. ;)
Never did the cartridge thing until I tried the Omnishaver this past August. It gave me ingrown hairs in the back of my neck. I’ve since expanded my shaving tools repertoire, but since discovering the Shakesharp version 1.5 will probably be unloading most of the Gillettes. The only Gillettes that do the job for me are the adjustables and the New Standard. I like an efficient razor. That’s why I like the LeCoq Cage Head and the Famex. Am waiting on a LaResche 77. This shaving community has revived my interest in externals and away from internal old man aches and pains! It’s been a blessing. People here are great!

How old do you have to be to get these aches & pains you guys are talking about?
I want to prepare myself when I get to be an old man.

Hey, Stuart, mine emerged after 11 hours of cancer surgery back in June of 2014. Things are much better for me than they were!
