Shepherds Pie I had a lot of mashed potatoes, left over, from a cookout the other day, that I didnt want to go to waste. I haven't made it in many years, and it was a hit. ..
Red cabbage and brats with a can of Goya small white beans, garlic, onion and butter. Been in the crockpot for a few hours, just shut it off.
Just made early dinner, an even cheaper (as is my custom) take on a cheap 1970s classic. Four burgers covered in mix of mushroom gravy and mushroom soup with a tbsp of A-1 mixed in. Put burgers in a dish, smother. Cover gravy with a little Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Seasoned fries on the side. Girls thought they hate mushrooms but devoured this before I told them what it is.
Tonight's dinnert (dinner + dessert) Pannenkoeken met bosbes saus (Dutch crepes with blueberry sauce)
At the Asian grocery, we picked up a big bag of purple rice, which we love. We also bought a small bag of red rice to try. Glad be only bought a small bag. It was awful-mushy, bitter & metallic. We scrapped it & we’re making some noodles to go with the duck.
Crazy as it seams, I had baked chicken, just baked chicken. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Well, I have been struggling with diabetes for a few months so I went on a really low carbohydrates diet. Tomorrow looks like steak. I'm really into steak, anytime. I've only been low carb for a few days but already down 30 points. I'm below 100, yea! And it doesn't vary much, even after I eat, more yea! So beef, pork, fish, shrimp, eggs, bacon, etc, etc... And steak..... tp
We bought a couple of pre-cooked dishes at the Asian grocery. The duck was already roasted. (Roast Elmer isn't in season.)
