Some organic, fair trade coffee at my favorite coffee lounge this morning whilst waiting for a buddy to get his butt out of bed and join me here. I get up before 7am on weekends...one would think I'm in my 70's
Every once in a while I treat myself to a Guinness. It is not Kefir, but it is still a very nice beverage
Yeah. Like the Guiness too. I am a fan of dark beers. On a rare occasion I will have a Taddy Porter at the local tavern or a glass of Chimay. I have homework today and am still recovering from an 8 hour man hunt on Thursday night. So I will probably just be drinking water myself, of course, I have one can of Boddington's Pub ale left. So, ya never know. I have to enjoy my beer early or else I can't sleep.
Chimay is a Belgian abbey ale. They say it's brewed in a monastary, but i know it's brewed by the elves of Rivendell.
Taddy Porter is from England. Tadcaster. I believe Tadcaster is also the name of the brewery. I stumbled on the taddy porter at my local tavern. When I ordered it, the bartender said, "Excellent choice." And he was write. I took a few sips and then let it sit to warm a little and it was even better. The only other Tadcaster I have had was called Nut Brown Ale. It too was good. These would have to be found in specialty beer stores I am afraid. So would the Chimay. The Chimay blue label is 9% alcohol, but you would pour it in a Goblet. The beer is unfiltered and there is sediment on the bottom. It is a Beligian beer brewed by Trappist monks. My brother introduced me to it last winter. I highly recommend both of them. I went to a beer and wine store and got a bottle of Chimay (comes in large bottles) and I forgot my ID. The clerk said, normally I would make it an issue but I can tell a customers age by there choice in beers.
another great beer for the summer is called Orange Blossom Cream Ale. It comes from Buffalo Bill Breweries in SanFran I think. Hard to find and costs about 10 or 11 bucks a six pack. I usually try to order a case so I can enjoy it through the summer without a having to drive far. Tastes a little like an Orange cream sicile.
Even though I live in SF and like to support local businesses if I can....that sounds terrible for a beer
I like Kefir and I like beer. I wonder why there is no Guinness flavored Kefir. That may be awesome. Or bacon flavored.
Aberlour 10 yr old single malt scotch. Reasonably priced and whilst I'm not an expert by any means, I find it very enjoyable.
Last night it was tequila. El Jimador Reposado. Not a bad sippin' tequila, and very cheap for a 100% agave tequila.
Aberlour speyside Distillery was founded in 1826. Speyside malts are normally peaty. This one should retail around £15, however as they age they certainly do increase in value. A Aberlour 1988 cask 25 year old malt would retail around £110, and a 25 year old 1988 cask "directors cut" about double the price at £200. These malts are made at the Distillery from spring waters where the "Lour burn" (stream) meets the river Spey. Enough of the history enjoy my friend..
