Founders Devil Dancer, 12% ABV, 112 IBU (the most of any beer), 10 hop varieties dry hopped for 26 days. Amazing malt flavor with the hoppiness.
Probably one of the most disappointing beers I've ever had. I think it does change year to year but I can't see it changing enough for me to want to drink it again. I'm glad I tried it but even more glad I didn't buy the $19 four pack! 112 IBU is getting quite tame nowadays, I think the record now stands at 2500. Which is pretty stupid as it's really just based on a semi-accurate equation and your taste buds can't tell the difference once you start getting in the 80+ or so range.
I hated that beer with a passion the first time I tried it but I've since tried it again and it wasn't bad. Have you been to their brewery?
Ommegang Abbey Ale. One of my new favorites. Very sweet (reads brown sugar) brown ale with sharp, almost fizzy, carbonation.
I used to tour with Rock bands back in the 70's....Back when some Rock and Funk Bands had horns....Because of the touring life style, I remember seeing Meta mucil for the first time...I went with a Canadian Band called "Lighthouse" and a couple of the cats would mix their Metamucil in their Molson's Golden Ale and they called it their "Meta-Molsons".......ha,ha..lol.....Can you imagine the TV commercial for that cocktail ?
I stopped by Santa Rosa on the way back from wine tasting with SWMBO. Lovely day, lovely country. Anyway, I got myself a few lovelies for later on.
My local Total Wine finally got a Japanese Whisky I could afford in stock, so I pulled the trigger on this: The waft off the glass is caramel. Cherry notes and a hint of malty goodness. Long vanilla finish.
When I was living in Houston I toured the St Arnold brewery. It's a great place to bring some cheese and bread and picnic with their beers. That's what a lot of people do on weekends there!
How kid friendly is it? I hear they serve the kids their own rootbeer so it might be a fun experience for everybody.
Coney Island Hard Root Beer. 5.8% alcohol and tastes, essentially, just like the non-alcoholic variety. Handle with care.
