Not usually a beer drinker, but being in a college town has some advantages. Great local IPA here. Named after a community in Dallas. Plus it "helps" my bad back.
Went to a new watering hole with the wife for a rare date since our son was staying late at school for an open mic. We sat at the bar. She had some special foo foo drink of theirs that featured Corgi Gin. I had some Templeton Rye on the rocks and washed a second one down with a sausage flatbread and their vegan pad thai dish. As I drank, I got somewhat nostalgic as it dawned on me that not all that long ago I could barely stomach any spirit with a brown color, other than rum. And I remarked at how much I was really enjoying the Templeton. I’ll chalk that up to the quality of the company. And while I’m at it I should catch up with yesterday’s evening drink. My neighbor came by and we polished off the last two drinks from a bottle of Lagavulin 8 with two small rocks before our respective wives came home.
Went to a casual party after my son's high school won the county championship in boys swimming. Drank Tito's on the rocks with a wedge of lime. 3 of them. I like Ketel One more. Smoother. Definitely more costly. But worth it.
