The Dalmore 12 Year Old. Merry Christmas to me! (Where are all the drinkers? This thread had become dull.)
I'm on a coctail binge, rotating between Daiquiris, Old Fashioneds, Negronis, and Manhattans. Tonight it's a Manhattan. I make mine with Canadian VO - - which is also what I use for my Old Fassioneds. It's cheap whisky (I wouldn't drink it straight) , but its superior in coctails. I'm using oddball merichono cherries that the wife picked out for me at Trader Joe's, and a big square ice cube made from a mold I bought online last month. The big ice is a nice enhancement, if you're into coctails I recommend you think seriously about your ice. Trader Joe's is very much hit-and-miss-- the "Amarina" cherries are a definite hit. Okay, @rmcintyre84, is that sufficient to keep the threat from becomimg dull?
That is my go-to, everyday drink. The quality for the price is unbelievable. Rebel Yell is $1 less for the 1.75 liter bottle. Ray's taste is not as developed as EW, but it is quite good straight.
My son and I picked up a bottle of Tin Cup a few months back and found it to be a nice mild blended whiskey. It would be good as a gift, but too pricey and mild for me.
Weller Special Reserve with one small cube of ice. Weller getting hard to find, Total Wine has a one bottle limit on the rare occasions they have some on the shelf
