What's the worst you have ever had Acquistion Disorder?

I had a SC/SS-AD, I have to try nearly every cream and soap I can get and I hoard the stuff I like.
But, as of lately, I fought it, I'm currently in the process of selling stuff and only keeping the things I really, really like.

It's tough, but it clears out the space for more stuff to come in :rofl

I think Str8 rad is about as bad as it gets in terms of $$. It just never ends...:(

The thing is, when you get str8 rad, there's strop AD and Hone AD attached; then comes divorce papers. :p

Seriously thoguh, SSAD, my personal worst.

Oh, man... should I get the forms myself, or wait for them to be served? :p

When I first started a few years ago was when AD was at its best (worst?) Somewhat necessary to go through to find what worked best for me, glad its done but also glad for what I learned from it.

You need to cruise Ebay sometime. Stuff like Wilkinson Stickies, Gillette Aristocrats or Presidents, or the Gold Toggle (195) really go for top coin!

For example, check this one out.

I was once told on another fourm that wet shavers tend to get RAD becuase we are out there lookig for the perfect set up. We tend to kick the RAD thing when we find the best setup. I have the razor, after shave and soap down. Now I have to figure out the razor and cologne before I can call it quits. What do you think? You think you will quit buying so much once you find the best setup?

I've always been a toilettrie lover. I've been collecting toilet water every since my teens.

As of recently, I'd have to admit: Hello, my name is Moe, and I'm a shaving soap-aholic.

  9. Very true indeed but not like collecting AD for motorcycles or sports cars. What I have experienced is that the investment sneaks up on you slowly which makes RAD possibly more damaging over time.

You do tend to slow down some. I have really slowed down on creams, soaps, etc. because I have so much, even in my modest stash. But you do find other things to acquire. Let's face it...a straight razor, properly cared for, isn't going to spoil or expire.

I have RAD pretty bad right now. Had my first DE shave last week, now I have 2 razors at home, and 7 on their way. One thing about vintage Gillette razors, once you have tried one, you want to try them all. :)

This is my first post here.I must admit that AD's are one of my many weaknesses.I have collected an impressive collection of vintage fishing reels which I am attempting to master. To me safety razors are equally fascinating. My wife loves it.;);)

Didn't see much mentioned about AS's. I love trying them out. Currently have about 20 of them stuffing the shave cabinet, travel kit, gym bag etc. That doesn't even count the various sampler bottles I've gone through. I've also had a bit of soap and cream AD as well. That's mostly to find out which work and which don't. This is the area where I've probably frittered away the most cash. I buy something, try it, doesn't quite work right so I PIF it onward. I'm getting close to narrowing down my favorites though. Looking forward to being able to focus all my resources where they're needed....more AS's!

I have about 20 different aftershaves right now as well. My most ridiculous AD's are Simpson Brushes and Livi Razors. I think my Livi phase is curbed..but i think that a Zowada phase is starting up :(

I think most of my AD's are taken care of with the following exceptions:

    * I just ordered 100 Feathers. I'm really diggin' the shave I get from them.

    * I have an overwhelming urge to horde Tabac soap. I don't understand this issue. I already have some, and there does not seem to be a shortage of Tabac in the market.

JayKay 3000 posts and all I got was this lousy title

Fountain pens were killing me for a while. I've slowed down the purchases to buy fewer but more expensive pens. Somehow I wound up with 20 or so and a buncha ink.

I've had some serious SSAD since I started wet shaving. I'm up to around 15-20 soaps and now I'm starting to try creams. I have never even finished a full puck of soap or even taken a serious dent out of one. My poor wallet... I'm doing pretty good otherwise, I have one brush, Someone is custom making me a pink ivory wood 25mm silvertip brush right now and I'm going to PIF my current brush when I get it. I also only have one usable razor, I bought 66 a lady gillette but it needs a lot of cleaning up before I'll use it.

edit: I also have some serious tea AD issues. I have at least 5 lbs of tea, with how light I drink my tea I have enough for at least a year or two of 24 oz of tea a day, probably more.
