@RyX @Primotenore Usually I only tear up when I pull out nose hair but you guys are getting to me. So, I went downstairs to the deep dark recesses of my shave soap stash and pulled out my 6 spare pucks of vintage Old Spice, all of which are in O/S mugs, (2 with original boxes). I wrote your names on one puck each, so when I die... and when I’m deeeeaaaaad, dead and gone... (that would make a good song); you’ll each get one if they’re still in my stash.
I have to go with Old Spice, for the scent. Lots of fine performers there, but only one smells like Old Spice.
Once while "pretending" to be a DJ, I completely blew it...I said "Here's 'Carry On' by Chicago". It was "And When I Die, by BS&T.
May your lather always be slick Your blade sharp and your brush never shed! Should you pass before us, we'll take good care of that puck of soap. You won't need it in the next life. I heard the dress code is more relaxed.
From the list I say Klar Kabinett. I still have a 1kg bar left and use it sparingly, like my tube of Noxzema.
I've not had a chance to try a soap that would fall under your definition of vintage. One day. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I have to work the lather longer vs new soaps, the scent is awesome and definitely long lasting. Once the lather gets going it’s good. It’s not the slickest of soaps, since then the development of shaving soap has improved. Don’t get me wrong it’s slick enough, but it’s no Sterling or Mystic Waters. The lather like the scent lasts and doesn’t really break down, but like all soaps it will eventually start. I’ve been fortunate to have a couple of used pucks and have a couple of new pucks. The used pucks I’ve have still have a lot of scent in them. One of them I actually converted into a shave stick. When paired with the vintage aftershave and cologne, the scents last well over 8 hours on me.
