Me too. I've always heard it meaning "good" when used in that context.

Yes, its completely retarded in a good way as you can see from this picture below with even VDH.

The only cream I have tried to use with it was Bigelow (Proraso) and I find my Omega boar actually does a better job with it, even though the boar is inferior on soaps imo.

My go-to brush is a Semogue 1305 boar, which has replaced my balding VDH brush.

The small guys hold slightly less lather which is good because I use most of it up, and don't have to squeeze out my brush.

    Currently I've got a 24mm Grade A, 22mm Finest 2-band and 18mm Grade A, all TGN knots.

I need a gentle scrub and for that I always reach for my Semogue 1800 (boar). Currently on the road and make a nice three pass lather of TOBS (Avocado). Couldn't ask for a better brush. I am still breaking in a 2000 but know it won't match the 1800. Andy

I get about equal results with my $10 Omega boar, my $14 Tweezerman badger, and my on sale $18.75 Vulfix badger. The Tweezerman is the one I keep returning to, maybe because it was the first that I tried.

It's quite possible that some $120 silvertip brush would be better than these in ways which can only be appreciated by trying it out. However, the cheap brushes all produce an excellent lather, and feel good on my face. They all lost some hairs at first, and then were okay.

Lately it's been a Vulfix 2233 boar. (Face lather only) Just the right size and a terrific brush.
