Tough call... Post-war ball-end Tech '46 Ranger hybrid or '46 Milord '47 Super Speed or '47 Milord (The Milords I added not because of the similarity of performance, but the cool factor of that shiny gold finish.)
I like most of my razors. If pinned down, someone said,(sentimental heirlooms aside) 1) merkur progress 2) Gillette executive (D3) 3) merkur futur Almost as easily could be replaced by, cadet tto14, stahly head on maggards mr5 handle, Berkeley custom shaver. Sorta undermines my answer, sorry. I like a bunch of them.
My top three: Charcoal Goods Level 3 open comb in antique brass PAA DOC Evo in stainless Muhle R41 2011
Well i had a few razors at one point and all but two. So my 2 favorite and only 2 i use now are 1. Timeless .68 scalloped base plate with 85mm barberpole handle 2. Merker 37c
I used to...well I wouldn't say dislike the Red Tip, but for a long time it seemed just a tad too strong so I sold them off pretty quickly. But after recent uses it's been a very fine razor that's growing on me.
Old reliable Slim is always in the mix. Lately also been using a plain old flair tip Ss for a lighter touch. But I most like my newest buy for now a Schick Krona - popped on eBay for the first time in over a year and got one that just needed cleaning up for $8 (gklauser, good vendor) . Now I better go delete the app before I start bidding on too many other cool interesting things I don't really need. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
Rockwell 6S v2. iKon X3 paired with a lighter handle. British Gillette Tech from the 40's with the fat handle.
Pearl SHD-33 Closed Comb -- Just right aggressiveness for everyday, nice long heavy handle Merkur 38C -- Similar head to the Pearl above, but just a little bit less aggressive and a half ounce heavier Fatip Grande -- Fairly aggressive open comb razor for shaving a two day growth. Inexpensive as they are, the Pearls and Cadets have been a revelation. I'm sure there are a lot of other good brands out there with the same heads. Anyway, the above 3 are my "go to" DE razors, and by the way, I've decided to cull the herd, so most of the others will go on the market here eventually. I think I can get by with 5 or six razors!
