    No idea but it seems like one of those too good to be true things. If you try it, let us know how it works. Apparently lapping films can be a good way to get started on the cheap but I haven't tried them myself.

    That's what I was thinking. From what I've read about stones here on the forum, you get what you pay for - cheap is cheap.
    Here's a thread on lapping paper ---> http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/lapping-paper.33054/

    A strop is the way to maintain.
    Honing is building a new edge, and a new skill set entirely.

    Sounds to good to be good.

    The PHIG or Chinese stones sold are hit or miss. Check e bay for barber hones. Those can be had at a reasonable price and will maintain a straight. Or a Naniwa 10k or even an 8k stone can keep your shave edge.

    Honestly I have never even seen them let alone tested them,

    But at that price I am pretty tempted to give them a shot to see what they are...

    I would NEVER ever in a million years recommend these to a new honer ,, learning honing is difficult enough to learn using tried and true paths let alone taking off on your own..

    If it doesn't work you can waste tons of time and money chasing the unobtainable..

    Norton 4k/8k <-- The Standard for beginner Honers. Well documented, consistent quality. Not cheap, but the right stuff.

    And then I read your Blog, you've done your research and homework.
