I pulled out my Feather AC and have been using it the past couple of days. I like it--it's so easy to use and always sharp.

I’ve tried several DE based shavettes and the Parker SRX is my favorite. It has some weight to it so it is easier for me maneuver.
Well I just poped on a Parker SB1, I've read some posts on the other Parker stainless but I liked the looks of this one. Wish me luck with it!

Used my Dovo shavette today with the dovo long blade in the black holder. But it was kind of weird thing, it was like the blade wasn't really cutting the hairs, it was just scraping them and taking the shave creme off. Multiple passes and pfft, nothing so I had to switch to my DE merkur. So, I guess I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the blade? It's in the holder correctly, its only been used once (with a similar effect) and the angle is about 30-40 degrees. I played with angle and no difference, went across the grain with no difference, etc. What the hell am I doing wrong?
I’ve been using a Parker SRX and a Magic shavette. Are there any suggestions for a shavette that might offer a different experience?
I’m looking at a couple now. Which blades are the best? I see proguard and professional. I read a ranking for them somewhere but I can’t remember where. I tend to prefer a sharper blade.
It depends on the razor. Here is my rule of thumb, others disagree, YMMV: Feather AC SS: Feather Super Pro Kai Captain or Kai Excelia: Feather Pro Feather AC DX: Feather Pro Guard
The CJB is similar to the Feather DX but at much lower price point. I use it and the Feather DX with Feather Pro blades.
@SevenEighth & @Keithmax - thanks for the advice. I’ve ordered a CJB and Feather pro blades. I’m looking forward to it!
