Why are Italian's renown for shaving creams?

The only reason Italian shaving creams are "renown" is because Proraso products are easily found in the USA. They are the first better quality wet shaving products Americans try and comment afterwards on the web. That's all.

I have both Omega and Proraso and have often wondered if they were made by the same company because they are so similar, almost identical. I can't find any evidence to prove this though. What info do you have?

Yes I agree.

Why is that? Where does the tradition of the Italian barber come from, do you think it relates to immigration and maybe it was one of the few businesses they could start up.
