Why are Trac II's so hard to find?

I see a bunch of the GII razors on the bay, but the original Trac II seems kind of slim pickin's. Why is that?

And I just missed that sterling silver model on the bay today. Shoot!

Anyway, I can't post a WTB yet as I only have 16 posts, but any ideas on this would be great. I also have watched the Classifieds and have seen basically none. Thanks to all.

I don't think I would worry too much about acquiring an Original Trac II. You can buy all metal aftermarket handles, that have more weight too them, and should thus work better, and those are plentiful all over the Internet. :D

I got one of these from International Sterling by accident recently - wanted the injector model. Appears to be NIB.

No idea on why it should be so, but isn't the G-II just the Trac-II for non-North American markets? Functionally & physically identical just with a name change for those other markets?

Did this and came up empty. Searched many different ways. Any ideas? Thanks.
