I think as a former manager at P&G I'm a bit biased. It was my first job out of college and I honestly knew nothing about the company when I joined. It was a great company to work for and actually preached work-life balance. Some very, very clever people roaming the halls there. Personally I ended up leaving a long time ago to try my hands at something a bit different, As with any larger company people tend to find them intimidating and scary and it is often 'popular' to dislike them in favor of smaller, independent brands. What people sometimes do forget though is that there is nothing wrong about being successful and grow. There is nothing wrong about providing work to thousands of people all over the world. There is nothing wrong about providing options to consumers that today are probably the most savvy shoppers we've ever seen. So for me, I don't really understand the need to lash out against companies where you simply can vote with your wallet. I'll always remember working for P&G fondly. Great company and people.
I'm not saying their products are bad i just find that I don't want to buy from a large corporations rather from smaller corporations
Ah, ok, I read your opening post saying "they take advantage of people who wont do research if a product is better or not to a competitor" as there being some sinister 'plot' or 'strategy' by the company and must have missed some subsequent post about it being more about being prone to artisan products. Not sure why P&G was singled out here (with OS/Duracell products named) as it now appears that it's more of an pro-artisan post. I like artisan products as well and it's what I prefer to use when I can - but I will never object to there being options in the market regardless of the size of the company.
Maybe because Old Spice smells like cat pee and Duracell batteries taste terrible. And I was told by a door to door evangelist that the old P&G logo is Satanic.
That was a was a widespread rumor supposedly started by a number of Amway workers, of all people, looking to capitalize on the negativity for P&G. About 7-8 years ago, P&G won a libel lawsuit against the reps from Amway (almost $20 million). It's still being propagated out there. Some rumors seem to live forever…
P&G is divesting a lot of brands. If you trade Options you could make some $$$. Im still keeping my stock, but a little volatility will be good for trading
I never said what the door to door evangelist was being evangelical about. Yeah, the P&G satanic symbol is one that's hard to die.
You think P&G is bad........Read up on Wal Mart. And their business practices. You will never even want to walk in one of their stores. in your life if you hate P&G products.
P&G sued and won a case against Amway for libel. The allegation was that Amway was telling people that the founders and majority stockholders of P&G were satanists. The court agreed with P&G.
