    Oooh...thirteen stars...evil soap.

There are fewer things more annoying than an Amway rep with a lead.

I'd remembered that only after reading about it here. I thought it was absurd when it was in the news way back. The Devil doesn't advertise.

So if you have a bad shave and then use Old Spice, it burns like hell? ;) Amway... is that the organization whose role models are next to Cairo?

I think a lot of it is because the media is very eager to report corporate misdeeds and unethical behavior, but far less so when a company treats its employees well and does the right thing. Having worked for both huge multinationals and tiny startups, I have to say that there is no correlation between size and good vs. bad corporate behavior. Ambition is a very good thing, but becomes very harmful if it crosses the line and turns into greed. Sometimes firms lose sight of the forest for the trees. Sometimes their customers do, as well. The "big company = bad, small company = good" notion is proof of that. So what happens when a small business grows large by selling great products at a reasonable price, and having excellent customer service? Are we to punish them solely for being successful? That would be irrational IMHO. My guess is that K.C. Gillette would have agreed, as he did start out small.

To those dissing P&G / Gillette, does that mean you will unload all your vintage razors? Yes, that includes your birth year Fatboy. After all, they were made by a big, evil corporation when it was even more dominant than it is today. Should we also turn away all those folks who discovered traditional wetshaving via an Art of Shaving store? After all, AoS isn't artisinal, authentic, or oh-so-persnickety.

If I hear of a company behaving unethically, I will not buy their products. Otherwise, my purchasing decisions are based solely on quality, value and customer service.

At least you have good reasons. :happy097: Hmmm...I've been looking for a shaving mug with a nice satanic image on it.

Unilever took the "deodorant" out of Lever soap, am I right?

The company I work for manufacturers a anti-bacterial. P &G could purchase the same chemical from India or China, however, thus far, have remained loyal and a top notch customer.

Well, it's just that I don't see "deodorant" on the Unilever brands, whereas I did on Lever's old company.
