Kinda like having a meat eaters section on a Vegetarian forum. It just ain't right. Were trying to convert the world one shaver at a time, not enable them. LOL

I tried to use an electric a couple times. My parents got me a Norelco when I first started to need to shave. Used it once and gave it back. I didn't shave for months after that. Then I got a Braun as a gift about 20 years ago. Took it to Saudi Arabia with me, used it once, and it's still there somewhere. It didn't hurt quite as much as the Norelco but the 5 a.m. shadow just didn't go over well. :)

Every worthy topic doesn't require a dedicated forum. :)

Well, that at least explains why the Saudis don't like us too much. Thanks, Brian. ;)

Which is why there's no Penguin sub-forum. :(

I have an electric that I carry in my lunchbox for work, just in case I wake up late or something. I HATE that thing. To remove anything at all, I have to press it so hard into my face that it hurts, and I still have to use it twice during a work day. Lately I have been carrying my Gillette Tech travel razor and an extra bowl, brush, AS, and C.O. Bigelow cream. I can shave when I get to work if I am running a little behind, and I get to show off my traditional shaving stuff in hopes of converting coworkers.

I had an Philips electric some 10 years ago. Tried to shave with it and got some awful irritations. It came with a trimmer blade so I used it for my goatee for years until it broke down some time ago... that was the end of it.

I gave them up after the darn thing burned my chin. Pressed too hard trying to get a bad spot smooth.

What is this "electric" thing you speak of?

Nothing much, it buzzes makes a sound like a R-41. And when your done and rub your face you still have 85% of what you just spent 20 minutes trying to get rid of. Oh yeah and your face is raw.

Wrong question. The real question is why would TSD have an electric razor forum?

I came here from the world of electrics. I had been through a new electric every year for the past 20 years looking for a decent shave. I've spent less than $100 and as much as $850 for a German model not available here. 30 days into wet shaving the Braun (most recent failure) found a new home at Goodwill. Good riddance IMHO.

There may not be a penguin sub-forum for TSD, but there is a penguin forum: E-Penguin. It calls itself "The Intellectual Wasteland." That sounds about right! ;)

We have to believe electric razors work for some, if we believe all faces are different, but they never worked for me.
