Why so many shaving video makers?

Yeah, but I've heard Nick Shaves has the most followers at 16,646 whereas Philip DeFranco (#1 last I heard) has 3,524,159. So I kinda doubt anyone is getting rich off of shaving videos.

 

He may not make as much as these guys http://www.forbes.com/sites/maddieberg/2015/10/14/the-worlds-highest-paid-youtube-stars-2015/ due to the niche market, but there is money to be made on youtube

 

I do like these videos as you can find out about new products. If you find a reviewer with similar tastes as yours you can find out what products to avoid and which to consider buying.

 

There are a lot of good shaving videos. Here's the favorite for straight razor shavers. I see no problem with shaving videos. They gave me a lot of help along the way.



And here's "fatboy". He has a shaving shop and he does really good videos about using all razors, DE's, straights, shavettes, etc.

 

The one at the bottom is awesome he's the shave nation dude. He's cool

 

See that guy on the bottom is one I have no use for. Lol And I never said I have a problem with shave videos. I just find it curious that there are so many guys out there making them.

 

Everyone wants their shave minute of fame. Frankly, I've stopped watching shaving videos, but I will watch a product review video from time to time.

 

I enjoy watching other people shave. I never got to see my grandpa or dad shave or anything. My dad just used foam and a cart and didn't care for shaving. It's fun watching someone who has a passion for it and makes their own lather and all that.

 

Yes, when you think of it...it is really odd to make a video of yourself shaving...and odd to watch them. Yet, it is all so very interesting to watch men shave. I enjoy the product reviews...very helpful. And different techniques are helpful as well. If you asked me a few years ago if I would be interested in watching guys shave on YouTube I would have laughed. As they say, never say never.

 

There's nothing wrong with shave videos per se. The problem is that, like most information on the Internet, not all of them are from sources who are necessarily qualified to be making them.

Initially I watched a few in order to keep up with newly released products like soaps, razors, and aftershaves.

Then, when I got bit by the straight razor bug, my focused turned to watching for technique.

I'm still waiting for @Darkbulb channel...showcasing his collection in action.

 

JUST FOAM???? That's all I use, and am happy. But I still will try a more fancy razor in the new year. And I do have the passion for the art of shaving .

 

Beats me. It's difficult to do it right. For myself, I started because at the time no one else was doing it and a lot of "newbies" were trying to figure out how to do things without any visual input.

 

I get about $100/month from Youtube ads....
