These brushes have arrived from Derek over the course of the last week and I have to say that they are amazingly well made brushes for an extremely reasonable price.

The 24mm Cashmere knot works very well in each brush and the short 50mm loft coupled with either the absence of a glue bump or a very small one gives a very solid backbone.

The tips are as soft as any high end badger brush I’ve used and the brushes are easily on a par with the best Shavemacs, Rooneys, Simpsons and M&F brushes I used to own.

Bit of a gear junkie...I have more Derek's/WWBW in my collection than other makers, he turns out some cool stuff for sure.

Well...Had an idea in the back of my mind, discussed with Derek and decided the project warranted doing to be a crowning piece to my WWBW collection, the first upside down block party handle with a TDR Knot, and my only with the Cactus coin.

Got this beautiful Jungle Ebonite handle coming from Wild West Brushworks. Going to put a Maggard 26mm mixed 70:30 Badger/Boar knot in it. Went with the cactus coin.

I’ve tried to capture the contrast of the colours in one of the Wild West brushes I own in the two pictures below.

Derek has masterfully combined a pearlescent purple with a pearlescent White which has a blue tinge when turned towards the light.

It’s very subtle but completely pops when the light is right and is very difficult to easily capture in a photo.

It’s another example of the great work Derek produces.

My Wild West Brushworks Jungle Ebonite handle arrived and I wasted no time setting the 26mm Maggard mixed knot in it.

It's really hard to capture the grain of the stone in the photo but it's amazing!

I also pulled the 24mm Timberwolf knot from my Talleyrand handle and replaced it with a 26mm. I also figured out why the 24mm knots feel so small. Derek really drills the socket deep in his handles. Both measured 20mm deep. I added two quarters as spacers in the handle to get the loft that I wanted.
