This pretty much sums up my experience with them as well... First shave was publicly acceptable, it felt like I was using a 4 day old Red Pack IP, somewhat smooth but very dull, I experience lots of tugging and pulling... I would say I got a 3.5 out of 5 shave, no matter what trick or techniques I used, I just couldn't mow all the stubble down. The second shave nearly ripped my face off, these really feel like a use it once and toss it blade, if somehow you're getting more than 1 shave out of these your beard must be about as thick as Leonardo De Caprio's :happy102 In summation, once these hit the majority of Wal*Marts they will make for a decent travel blade if you want to drag your DE's in your carry on... Still I'm thinking a Mach 3 and the little can of Barbasol is a better bet.....
first blade i used was a wal-mart wilkinson... of the blades i've tried so far they were better than the ASR personnas but not as good as the derbys i can pull about 4 shaves per blade... tried 5 with the first one and it was one shave too many
I get 3 decent shaves from them and then chuck the blade. Works in all my razors equally well. I like them and will use them regularly. Certainly better than some blades out there
This pretty well sums up my experience with them. I'll keep using them because of the cost and convenience. They may not be the best blades in the world, but they're far from being the worst.
Blades are discrete, here are commonly found in supermarkets where they sell them on the razor wilkinson classic ... I have some not bad, but 'are not among my favorites ..
I finally found a razor that likes these blades for me and that's the Old Type I recently acquired.... I only get one good shave out of the blade still, but its very close to a Red Pack IP for me, and considering they're local I can handle the 18 cents a shave. :happy088
I might have to snag a pack next time I am at Wal-Mart. If everyone buys a pack, then maybe Wal-Mart will notice.
I shaved with them for a week or so. not bad, but not the best. This kind of blade seems to work best for men with heavy beards. I get a bit of burn when I try to go for the BBS shave. Part of the problem is I used them in a '66 Gillette SS and the SS's are not known to be agressive, an open comb razor might be better. The local Walmart seems to have trouble keeping them in stock, so I guess some people like them alot.
They where the first blade I ever tried (sample pack was on its way) and in a Gillette adjustable they weren't bad just had to remember hold the end not under the head. Learning to shave in the US Army, taught me many, many a bad habit.
Picked up a pack today to try. Up until now, my local Wal-Mart didn't even carry DE blades so I was shocked to see them on the shelf. I'll give 'em a go in the morning and see how they well they work.
The more I use them, the more I like them. They shave me BBS and are a very comfortable blade. My wife saw them first, and asked if I wanted her to get some. I had her pick up a pack or two. After my first few shaves with them, I had her buy 2 more packs. They work as well as Derby, for me. Much smoother than my personal experiences with Personnas. I get about 3 or 4 great shaves from them. Good enough for me.
I've gone through a few of these blades now and think they are okay. They are definitely better than some blades I've used but not as good as the Wilkinson Classic blades in the white package.
I do not agree on the fact that they are better than the Personna .... sometimes I buy these blades 10 in the box yellow, not bad, there 'worse, but' we 'even better (personna red are best!)
