Not too many people remember The House of David or their baseball team. I am from the area and would go to see them play often. Dave
When I decided to once again dip my toes into traditional wet shaving, buying a puck of Williams was one of the first things I did. Then I remembered why I gave up using brush and soap nearly 45 years ago for the canned goo. Then I found The Shave Den 3 years ago! Actually the problem then was most likely the lack of knowledge in how to lather, since I'm guessing I had the vintage Williams back then. I do keep some Van Der Williams around, so I'll probably buy a few pucks for VDW, and keep one posterity.
I know it's off topic, but thanks to a couple of you for mentioning The House of David baseball team. I just looked that up, and that's some fascinating history!
I have many great soaps, but the thing is sometimes I obsess about things and I get really stubborn. I know some people love this soap. I NEED to see if I can get a good shave out of it. NEED!
Haha that's funny. It is much easier to find good soaps now too. I guess some people really have figured williams out. But I don't know, I can't get it to work haha
If you use it as a urinal cake, as it was intended, you'll have plenty of "water". I've never seen a urinal cake lather however...
Did you check your trash can? That's where mine ended up...or maybe it was the shower stall? Been a while. I just remember that it was not an ideal shave soap. I have. It was some weird Turkish brand of urinal cake. Arky...Larko...Arko. Yeah, it was called Arko.
Scent or performance, the stuff seems to cause controversy. A bit sorry to see it go though cuz it was my first soap when I ditched the can nearly twenty years ago...
