I have vintage, new, and a blend poised for use! (And a puck of vintage on the way, but I'm pretty confident I won't get to it before the week is out.) Bring it on!
Yes indeed!! I have already put my Omega Pro 48 Industrial Size Facial Paint Brush in my bowl to start soaking. I'm going to paint the whole bathroom with Williams Wonderfulness tomorrow morning!!
its on! Couldn't get the best shave today, but that had nothing to do with Williams. Evidently, I did something wrong while camping and have a lot of lower neck irritation - maybe even due to a tight around the neck shirt for 6 hours at a wedding (yes, camping and wedding at the same time....)
Well, I did it. I used Williams, despite the Skeeter-Be-Gone smell. Amazing how 5 drops of M Bomb will kill the scent of a soap! Not a bad lather. A little thin, but it gave a very good shave. I have the rest of the week to see if I can coax the best out of this soap. I do plan on dropping down one drop per day with the M Bomb and try to get used to the smell.
I don't much notice a smell anymore. My puck has been in an OS mug for the last few months though. I like Williams. It does not provide as much cushion as some other soaps, but it is nice and slick. It is easier to get a consistently good lather with then MWF. As long as it is available, there will always be a puck or two of Williams in my den.

Skeeter-be-gone! I was wondering why that smelled familiar! I probably won't shave till this evening sometime, but I'll keep you posted!

I'm very much a newbie, so I'm unsure about my technique. Accordingly, take comments with a grain of salt... I had an ok shave this morning. Had more nicks than usual, but might have been a function of the blade or me rushing a bit. I soaked the soap in hot water when I showered, dumped out the water, and went to town. I got a lather quickly, but it was pretty thin. I seemed to get better lather with my second pass -- I've found this with Proraso too. I also found the thinnish later didn't stay on my face well -- had to re-lather after application. Don't mind the smell, but wouldn't seek it out either. Seems like there's not as much lubrication/moisturizing as I've found in other products. Gillette Tech Voshkod Blade Cheap VdH Boar Brish Whiskey After Shave Ahava After Shave Balm
pssst... I think you guys are looking for this thread. This thread here is more for those who are using Williams shave soap this week as part of Theme Week. Great posts, though!
I, too, don't really notice the smell of the Williams, beyond the light, soapy smell. Anyway, I dumped my big, wet, sloppy Omega Pro 48 brush into the bowl/mug with the Williams puck, and proceeded to whip up enough enough lather to not only paint myself and the entire bathroom, but two of our cats as well. I'm thinking that maybe I'll use my usual Omega 66 tomorrow, to localize the lather painting a bit. The rest of today's setup was the same as any other Monday morning - 38C with a Personna Lab blade, and some Pinaud V.I. Bay Rum afterwards. A very fine shave indeed.
For some reason after the skeeter-be-gone comment, Williams smells like a cross between skin so soft and citronella.
Sorry about that. I didn't know there were two threads for this week. I may give Willams a try in the morning.
Cool! If you do use the Williams, please post here and/or in the SOS thread. Looking forward to how it works for you and how you like it.
