Not only is this the biggest bottle I ever found, it was part of my largest haul of Pinaud glass bottles ever. All of the glass bottle, some which are still full came from a estate sale. Was told the family was involved with the demolition of the Pinaud factory in NYC. It's size is immense. It stands over 14 inches tall and at the base, 5 1/4 wide. The small bottle is 2 oz, the medium size, which is usually the large, is 12 1/2 ounce. Just guessing, the large must be every bit of 40 oz. Did I say it is huge. The bottom is embossed " Bottle Property of Ed Pinaud in New York". I can not see this being used regularly at a shop. I think it is a Factice for back display. I am lucky to find this.
Thank you A site I have bookmarked for reference. First paragraph confirms yes, maybe https://teleport-city.com/2013/10/12/pinaud/
Excellent article...thanks for showing this. The Napoleon/Lilac issue appears to be an ongoing investigation, but the commentaries are always interesting. I do think the "1810" should go, though. As I said in a previous post, the proper analogy would be saying Lincoln was born in a log cabin he built with his bare hands(that's a shaggy dog joke, but I think it works with the Clubman Pinaud/1810 thing).
What cool bottles! It must be a blast collecting them! Im fascinated by them all. Thanks for showing them to us!
Thank you all for the kind words. It was a exciting To find a bottle that big. Off the the flea market to find more
