Holy crap...who uses that? The term too much money comes to mind. I must have stood in the wrong line at some point.
If the steel is good, the honing was done properly, your skill level is up to snuff, and your prep was good, I'd say they all can deliver an equal shave.
Gotta remember that the 'cheap' straights that you find at the antique store for cheap might have been fairly expensive when they were sold as new to a barber. It can be hard to tell, but you can get some that were clearly imported from Europe when that was still very expensive.
In response to the original post, I think that the shave depends more on whether or not its properly honed and the technique of the user rather than price. Good prep and a sharp blade will make any razor feel like $1000.
