Yesterday evening I got back from our denomination's Men's Conference in Myrtle Beach SC. During our free time on Friday the guys from my church drove up to Wilmington NC and toured the WWII battleship the USS North Carolina. In the ship's store they had a display of some vintage shaving products and related items. The pics are not the best but perhaps you will enjoy them. The firs pic is for the tobacco fans.
Fantastic Jon!! Thanks very much for taking the time, and for sharing. I find it amazing that the Navy big guns new that well groomed men were more likely to be men with high morale. Is there a barber shop aboard our large ships today? (aircraft carriers especially...)
Thanks for sharing....My Pop was in the Navy during WWII, he was in 'Fire Control' aboard a Distroyer...That means he aimed the cannons, not a fireman ha,ha...And he thought it was very cool that at that time the Navy issued him a Schick Injector-Black Handle razor....He said, the guys felt like the Navy appreciated them enough to issue them the best, and not pinch pennies....Needless to say, now I'm hot for a Black handle 'E' type Schick....};^))
