Hello everybody! I've been reading the posts here for a couple of weeks and decided to join. I'm a long time/unhappy electric shaver and thought I'd give wet shaving a whirl. After reading lots of advice here I ordered a razor and some blades from QED and a brush and some soap from Best Grooming. (If I break up the orders my wife doesn't realize how much I'm buying Anyway, I've shaved twice now and my neck is a mess. I'll watch the Mantic videos again but I know I have to back off on the preassure. In the meantime, I'll need to look for some post-shave treatment to help me heal. Anyway, thanks to all the long time members for providing help to us newbies!
Welcome to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay! Sorry you've had a rough start, but sound like you're spot on with the pressure being the trouble, and try out witch hazel like Steve recommended. Most of all, don't get discouraged, the good shaves will happen, you just need to take the time and get your technique down pat.
