I think that Erasmic goes for $3.75 on most sites, and I love it. It has a very traditional barber shop scent, is mildly cooling, works very well, and is truly a best bang for your buck product. Also SuperMax shave cream is good also for about the same price. For under $15, the C.O. Bigelow cream that you can get at Bath and Body Works is the same thing as Proraso Green since it's made by them, plus it's a huge tube and lasts forever. It works well, and it's super cooling. The Col. Conk glycerine shave soaps a pretty good also. I've tried the Lime, and the Bay Rum.

View attachment 41263 View attachment 41264 These are two of my favorites that both run about $3.75 on most websites. The Erasmic is probably my most favorite for a traditional barber shop smelling cream that works really well. I have some TOBS, and others, but the Erasmis is still one I reach for a lot. For around $10, the C.O. Bigelow that you can get at Bath and Body Works is nice, and it's the same thing as Proraso green as they are the ones that actually make it, and it can be purchased locally for most people.

As others have stated already: Proraso (green) and C.O. Bigelow. I have an Arko stick that was gifted to me but I have yet to try it.

C.O. Bigelow (nearly always on sale)
Maca Root Shave Cream (you can frequently get this half price, so $5 for a 4oz tube, though you may have to order more than one)
    Dalan D'men
    Real Shave Company

Gotta say Palmolive original in the green tube; not the mentholated red. Smells clean, manly, and gives a great lather w/ little work. Best part is it's hard to find an aftershave that won't pair well with it. Plus you need to so little a tube lasts a while.

I've just recently gone can free & making my own lather from an Omega cream. Been very surprised about how long it has lasted. Just hope I will live long enough to try all these others available.

An Erasmic stick was my worst experience ever in wet shaving, I can't get myself to try the cream.

Ever hear of Coates shaving Creme? It was an old line British company? They had a loyal following. They sold an excellent expensive shaving cream. They were bought up by another company and their entire stock was destroyed. It has not been available for years. Some one found a few boxes of the product in a warehouse in Texas. He is selling them shipped for $18 for 6 tubes CONUS. I bought 6 tubes and they are really good I am going back and ordering another 6 tubes.

Definetly Palmolive. It's available almost everywhere and cheap as hell...I am glad to own the Italian Version named "Rinfrescante"...Very very cheap too (in Italy),a fantastic cream but out of Italy a little difficult to order. Because of this the price of the cream is running very high...

I currently use Arko Extra sensitive cream works nice but I find it provides too much protection- the blade just glides over the cream and hairs sometimes. I mostly use the Arko Shave stick.

I get Barbersol sensitive skin for $1 a can out of the Dollar Tree. I probably go through 2 cans a year. It used to be the full size can but I seen the other day it's now about half the size as the regular can. Still ya cannot beat a $1!

I think that has to be Erasmic. It costs about NOK 35. And that is the price of two bottles of coke. The Cola kind :)

I lived in Norway for a brief period about 25 years ago. I didn't think anything in Norway was inexpensive. I guess it's all relative.

    You're right, sort of.
The price level in Norway is somewhat high from a foreigners perspective, but this Erasmic cream is way cheaper than for instance a tube of Proraso. That one goes for NOK 99
For reference, a Big Mac cost about NOK 60, or about 10 USD
