Seattle Evening in an unnamed "Made in London" pipe. The tobacco was good, I'm not too crazy about the pipe. The Seattle Evening label says "English/Oriental Tobacco ... beguiling blend of Latakia, Exotic Orientals, BTR and Red Virginias" What is BTR?
AJ's VaPer in a Neerup poker, while I work on my church budget presentation for business meeting tomorrow night.
I like to read also, and have made a couple of hauls from our local library when they sell off some books. I usually pay $1 at the library sale, otherwise I hit the clearance shelves at local bookstores. I can read a $6 clearance book about as well as a new bestseller for $29. Edit: my wife also usually gets me a book or two every year for birthday, Christmas, etc. she knows which authors I like.
Mid day smoke, first time trying this baccy, enjoyed it a lot. have a feeling another pipe an different baccy later...
Today I began my Annual "Pipe-Smoking!" I always wait until the first 'Snowfall,' before I begin my 'Pipe-Smoking;' & end my pleasure, therein, on the first day of Spring! Today was a very beautiful Winter's Day here in old Kentucky; & a very cold one, too. It had snowed! A perfect day for my choice. I chose my "Lion's-Head Meerschaum!" I tamped it with Mac Baren Virginia #1; & didn't have to re-light it throughout the whole hour-'longer' bowl! I listened to classical music during my imbibing; and almost fell-asleep, twice! Oh, how this old man loves it! I have a very nice collection; over these years, & I enjoy them ALL...,( I have 50, some Pipes!) They'll all be Smoked, & Cleaned (like my guns) Well, too! "Thank You, Lord!" Hope you all have a wonderful year of 'Shaving & Smoking, & Joy!' I had a GREAT Shave today, too! I Love my Collection of 34 Vintage Razors; which I use, regularly! (I keep them very clean, too!) I pray your lives are "Filled-With-The Lord's-Blessings!" I DO!
Very nice! I love a good Virginia. I am glad you enjoyed it! And welcome to our little pipe corner of TSD.
PS 17 English Luxury in a Mastercraft meerschaum lined billiard. The PS 17 is a bit mild, I think I prefer the PS 306.
This morning, I enjoyed a bowl of OGS from my bent Jobey. Tonight's selection: McClelland Pebblecut Roma Saddle Bit Billiard
Drew Estate Toasted Black Cavendish in a MM Country Gentleman with a Freehand bit. The Missouri Meerschaums are some of my best smoking pipes, but I don't like the standard bits.
For @DDuckyMark - this is my version of suicide mix. Leftover OGS, Gatsby and Wessex Burley in the best smoking pipe I've got! Waste not, want not....
Also in the photo above, I was at my grocery store, and needed a small cutting board. Whilst browsing kitchen wares, I spied these white acrylic lipped trays, $2.29ea, picked up two for working tobacco or setting up. The lip allows easy pouring of leftover tobacco into its rightful container. Again, waste not, want not.... ☺
A man after my own heart, DE shaving, guns, and pipes! I hope you share some pictures of your pipes. There is another thread of firearms and shavers! You should post a pic or two over there.
Old Gowrie is a venerated old label, it is the fave of many! From Rattray's, Old Gowrie and Marlin Flake are my top two.
English Luxury was one of my first forays into Latakia blends, along with with Altadis English Aromatic.
