Second pipe of the day, Carter Hall in a Briary small natural billiard. I bought some Carter Hall in a pouch. It feels dry, but not overly dry, but it burns really quick., even when lazily puffing.
Could be. It may be dryer than I think. But when I was smoking it, it didn't burn hot. May just be a combination of the burley and being somewhat dry.
Davidoff Royalty in a Tinder Box Lugano on a beautiful morning. The Royalty is a very nice blend. Virginia and orientals with a bit of latakia, a soft and cool burning smoke. I drank a full pot of coffee while enjoying the smoke and reading the paper.
Afternoon Burley break... GL Pease Jack Knife Plug Sliced into a flake Rubbed out to dry for a bit This tobacco is hard hitting, smoky, dark KY burley goodness. Not recommended for small children, old dogs, or @BamaT!
Here is what I have. My favourites are Rattray's Old Gowrie and Dunhill Red Mixture even though they are very different. I am very open to recommendations.
The Red is a mild Va/cavendish aromatic, and the Gowrie is a straightforward VA/Perique. You sound like a candidate for Escudo Navy DeLuxe or Dunhill DeLuxe Navy Rolls, both great Va/Per. MacBaren Symphony is another mild aromatic that might suit you.
