Earlier today.... My fave Kaywoodie Drinkless Carved 1/4 Bent Accidentally prepared too much... Had a clean Kaywoodie Drinkless Carved Ball handy so, two-fer Tuesday!
Mccranie's red flake 2008 in a great little Peterson meer. I think this has become my favorite pipe as of late.
I've actually got three on my short list. 1. G.L. Pease The Virginia Cream 2. Rattray's Old Gowrie 3. PS cube cut
I would like to try a navy cake. I am also curious about Pica flavored for a cheap fishing tobacco. I think part of my tax refund will buy me some soaps, aftershaves and tobacco samplers along with a pipe or 3.
I like a cheap pipe and tobacco to smoke while fishing. Keeps the bugs off and if its cheap enough I don't worry about accidentally dropping it off the bank into the river.
First a big shout out to @Bama Samurai Chris sent me a fine tobacco starter pack based on my limited pipe experience and my cigar preferences: So last night after an exhausting day I tried my first one. First, I guess I have lived a sheltered life, I have never seen tobacco rolled like this before. Second, wow this stuff is good! Last night was most successful bowl and today this is my favourite tobacco..... but .... I still have 2 more of Chris' recommendations to try. Chris was patient and got me through Pipe 101 and 102. Last night I was overcome with temptation and order an estate Dunhill pipe. I hereby bequeath the title 'enabler extraordinare' to Chris.
This afternoon I had Peterson Irish Oak in a Tinder Box Lugano pipe, then a couple of hours later Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture in the same pipe. The Irish Oak had something that tasted a bit harsh, the Elizabethan Mixture was much better but I believe I prefer the English blends. I guess I just like latakia better than perique.
@DDuckyMark, I put your package in the mail today, with a scheduled delivery of Monday. When you get it, look at the back and notice the brand of envelope. Hope you enjoy the University Flake, and the Superior Round Slices and AJ's VaPer samples.
I am so glad you liked it! It will match perfectly with a Dunhill pipe. Welcome to the world of pipe tobacco!
