I forgot to add--agree with both of you. It's almost perique-forward and a bit much as a regular smoke. I've actually cut it with PS Lux Navy or OGS to tone it down.
Late night pipe, John Aylesbury English Mixture in an old Charaton, my first pipe bought in 1978. Shown with my maternal grandparents' mantle clock bought in 1918. Needs a little tuneup from a clocksmith, it's not running right now.
I've got some McClelland 5100 Red Cake, a straight red Virginia that is pretty dang good by itself, and and some PS 701 light Virginia. I could cut it with either or both of those. May have to try that tomorrow.
Drew Estate Gatsby Luxury Flake in a Nording sandblast. I think the Gatsby Flake is the only non-aromatic Drew Estate blend, and it my favorite. Folded and stuffed for a nice Sunday eveneing pipe.

Drew Estate Heirloom Cherry in a Stanwell with balsa filter. I'm a bit ambivalent about the cherry aromatic, it's much better than the Paladin, burned cool and completely and has a faint cherry taste, but I like the non-aro's better.

When I first lit the bowl,I thought what I read was true, tastes like CH, which is my go to yardwork baccy in a MM legend cob. If you get a tub and don't care for it, will work out a deal to take off your hands.
