Highschool Softball playoffs got rained out so home early enough to enjoy a smoke. Made a modification and put my Dagner cob stem on my patriot cob. Enjoying a house blend from my local shop called Creme Brûlée Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You got a lot more rain in Katy than we did in Sugar Land, I'm surprised they didn't postpone the playoffs earlier, especially considering the huge amounts of rain just north of Katy yesterday. It's storming here in Sugar Land now, but it should pass quickly.
Well we were playing Pearland at Manvel highschool ... So we left Katy in the rain sat in the rain at Manvel Highschool then they called the game and we had to drive back thru the rain... After all that I needed a smoke... Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here's a nice write-up by Michal Novak on his rare wood pipes. He speaks English better than he writes it, but you will easily understand what he is saying. Copied from his Facebook page: I finally got the link to work, so I deleted the copy and paste. Více zde: http://www.novakpipes.cz/en1/rare-wood/
A beautiful morning after about 2" of rain overnight. A bowl of Davidoff English mixture in a Falcon while drinking coffee. I roasted some coffee afterward.
Or what we do before this.. Elderly neighbor, widow age 72, being fined by HOA for the dying red bushes. I've recruited two teen boys and bought soil, and replacement plants, and I had my lawyer tell the HOA to knock it off... It'll be fixed by Sunday.
Reason number 7,459,023 why I'll never buy a house somewhere they have HOAs. Awesome of you to help her out!
Lol glad I don't want to live near a city then. I really don't mind my 45 minute commute. Except between late October and mid May...
That's one good thing about the section of Old Katy I am in... Older home on almost 3/4 of an acre no HOA... After living here I told the wife I can't go back to living in a modern style neighborhood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think many HOAs go way overboard with many things. I don't live in an HOA neighborhood, and really hope I never do. But, they can serve a purpose. I've seen houses painted a nice chartreuse (fishermen will know this color!), or a lovely purple with pink shutters. HOAs can help with those types of problems; but far too often they are way over-reaching with regulations. We have a house down the street that simply refuses to mow their lawn/weeds. Fortunately we have some good city ordinances for those type issues, and they are eventually enforced. That's a far cry from a dying bush. The case cited by Chris is plain ridiculous. Why not talk to the lady, find out the circumstances, and get her some help if needed? Reminds me of management at some companies, too many knee jerk reactions before finding out the facts and actually coming up with a good solution. Ready, fire, aim.
