South West Louisiana is quite dry. The surrounding parishes (counties) have burn bans in place. Last couple days I worked in our citrus orchard prepping the sprinkler system for winter freeze protection. The satsumas appreciated the drink. Our pond is getting low.

Seems like Lousiana is feast or famine on rain. I don't really mean that in a lighthearted way, I know people died in the flooding.

No offense taken. Any coastal population faces possibility of weather. With satellite weather available on everybody's phone there's no excuse for needing rescue from The Cajun Navy.

Capt Black Royal in a Cristiano. First bowl in the pipe, it's a good smoker.

I just pulled the trigger on this, not sure if it was a good or bad choice.

As I understand Turkmeer was a Wally Frank trademark and the pipe probably dates from the 60's - 70's.

    Edit -
I should have read the back of the box. The Turkmeer pipes were Wally Franks cheap meers from pressed meerschaum. "..milled, refined and bonded. "

It will still be interesting to see how it smokes compared with my Bekler. I've been planning on getting a Baki or Altinok when the B'day rolls around, and that hasn't changed.

Chicken on the grill, Dan Tobacco Choo Choo Train in a Peterson Christmas pipe. Someone else here had some Choo Choo Train a while back, but I can't remember who. Picked it up today at The Briary. The wise and all knowing proprietor, Skip, knows I generally don't like aromatics, but he suggested I try this one. I would categorize it as a semi-aromatic, with definite hay/grass and lemon notes obvious from the Virginia. Maybe a very slight honey topping. Liking it so far, but I'll have to have a few more bowls before deciding for sure.

It's a pretty pipe. The simple stem band goes well with the clean lines of the straight pipe. I like it!

Was that one from the recent eBay specials? I bought 2 different Chistiano pipes from the seller, both smoke great. And the price was excellent especially with the free tampers he added!

Yes, it was a heck of a bargain at $17.62 including shipping.

I ended up ordering 2 different pipes, he sent 3 with 3 tampers. Total cost was 37.62 with shipping. Was happy with the price for 2 but to receive 3, a complete bargain. I did send him a note about the extra pipe, he didn't respond but another person on a pipe forum had same thing happen and the seller just send enjoy. Currently smoking 2 the 3rd one I'm giving to SIL for Christmas.

I've been thinking about getting and trying a guppy. I've been giving my cob pipes and my 9mm filter pipes the most smoke time recently.

Orlik Club Mixture in a Country Gent before tuning in the election results. The OCM is a bit of a disappointment, I've had a few bowls and haven't been impressed. Hopefully I won't be disappointed in the election results.

I have a question..scary I know. I have a some baccy I am going to be offering up for trades (on a pipe smoking forum).
My question is can I post the baccy for trade in this section as well?
I know this is a shaving forum (and the best one at that!) and this section is a small subset or that. I don't want to break any rules.

First smoke was OJK in a cob. This was my second smoke of day. Baccy is ok and in my EH column. Nice smoke but too plain for me. Pipe is my eBay steal T Christano
