P. Stokkebye Lux Navy Flake in my largest bowl. A full rubbed out flake just won't fit any other pipe. Very OGS but maybe a bit lighter on the Perique? Think I'll try a little blending soon.
Started day with a custom Twain Cob with Maple Shank with PA/OJK mix. Now enjoying some 5100 in a commissioned Service Merchant Bing.
My rate of smoking lately is out of control due to quitting cigs, pipe baccy consumption is climbing fast, good thing I have a good cellar and variety of pipes. Next up will be OGS in a T. Christano
First pipe this am was a custom MM Twain Cob with Maple Shank filled with OJK/PA. Now smoking EMP in my Sav deLuxe Milano Bulldog
Been reading a lot, but not smoking my pipes much. I grew up with asthma, but no real problems in many years. But this spring I've been having some allergy induced asthmatic symptoms, and I've heard from several other people saying allergies are worse this year, in spite of less than average visible pollen accumulations. So no pipes for me until this clears up. Looking forward to trying samples of Ye Olde Sign and Elizabethan Mixture, sent to me by one of our fellow pipers here.
Let's see, first smoke OJK in MM Legend, 2nd smoke 5100 in a custom Service Merchant Bing (made to the exact specs that Mr.Crosby had made for himself) Now some MacBarren Golden Extra from 2013 (received in a trade) in my black anodized Falcon
Let me work on that. I picked up a new one when I stopped by the shop the other day. Some time today I will work that out for you.
Saturday morning pipe. The Houston Chronicle that is delivered has the China Daily included in the Saturday paper. I don't know if it's included in all papers, or just those in the western suburbs. Sugar Land has about 35% of the population of Asian ethnicity, and although Indian is the largest proportion of that I'm thinking Chinese is second, but can't find specific demographic data. It presents a different view on international news, although propaganda heavy and although they can be critical of local Chinese governments they are never critical of the national government.
My first time to try Best Brown #2. I picked it to be my first Lakeland blend because it's reported to have a light Lakeland essence. The floral note was definitely noticeable though. I should have dried it a bit, it required several relights. I rubbed out a bit more and will let dry for a couple of hours before trying a second bowl. The pipe is an old Tinderbox.
