Do you have problems with the stem working loose in those? I never take mine apart when hot or anything but they always get loose.
This is a Forever stem I bought because I don't like the standard stems. It fits this diplomat well and hasn't worked loose, but I never remove it. I think there is a bit of variation in the cobs, so the stem fits some better than others.
They are sold by Old Log Cabin Pipe Works http://oldlogcabinpipeworks.com/ I've heard some complaints about quality recently on another forum.
Seems like those used to be sold by Walker Briar works, IIRC. Seems like they had a pretty large selection.
They were, but Old Log Cabin Pipe Works took over the business about 2 1/2 years ago. The message below was posted at Walker Briar Works at that time. "We are thrilled, happy and proud to announce that Log Cabin Pipe Works, a new company owned by Pat Morgan, wife of Phil Morgan, General Manager of Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipes, is taking over making and selling our 'Forever' Corn Cob Pipe Stems. Most of you know Phil and Pat. They are a friendly couple dedicated to Corn Cob Pipes and the pipe community. While Phil will continue as General Manager of Missouri Meerschaum, he will assist Pat in the art of stem making."
Congrats on 1st order from P&C! That’s quite a broad spectrum on that first order, 3 very different blends.
Working from home at the kitchen table Sat. Morning. My wife is at the Alabama National Championship parade, otherwise I wouldn’t be smoking inside! I’ll light a couple of smokers candles later. Edit: Smoking a 2 to 1 mixture of 5100 Red Cake and PS Toasted Burley in a Sasieni half bent bulldog. Almost forgot the most important thing!
I knew I liked OGS thanks to @Bama Samurai. I wanted to try the Dark Strong Kentucky...which I really like. The cherry came with a cob for $2. What the hay eh?
Today coming to work the Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky in a pipe I just picked up. It is marked Pipe Makers with a red dot. It is going to be a keeper I think.
