I've dealt with this vendor for many years. They carry some Orlik tins. https://www.smokingpipes.com/
I've seen great reviews for Peter Stokkebye bulk tobacco, especially the 400. I will be ordering some different blends soon........ https://www.pipesandcigars.com/shop/?q=peter+stokkebye+tobacco
I've always liked the McClelland bulks, especially their Virginas. Most online vendors carry them. I've never been especially fond of the Lane bulks, sold in most tobacco shops.
I don’t care for most of the bulk aromatics found in most tobacco shops. However, there is a possibility a local shop may have the bulks I have listed below. If so, these would be excellent choices, in my opinion. Peter Stokkebye has two bulk items that are very good, both flakes - Luxury Navy Flake and Luxury Bullseye Flake. Both are Vapers, with Bullseye being a coin with a cavendish center. I also like Newminister Superior Navy Flake, a straight Virginia that has more of a bread like flavor vs a grassy flavor of many Virginias or the deep dark fruit flavor of matured Virginias. I know that sounds odd, but many reviewers say similar things and I concur. Two of the best bulks may sadly be gone forever, McClelland 2015, a Vaper broken flake and McClelland 2035, a matured dark Virginia broken flake.
2015 gone? Wow, that is sad. It was a classic Vaper I smoked for a few years. I have a fondness for McClelland tobaccos, tinned and bulk. When Penzance disappeared several years ago (never in stock anywhere, but sill listed), I switched to McClelland tobaccos almost exclusively, though I had always had some on hand over the years, especially 2015.
If all I had were 2015 and 2035, I could be quite content; I was planning on ordering a pound of each to cellar. I had read that McClelland was having issues with the quality of some of their leaf supply, and would not use what they could currently get. It now appears that McClelland may be totally out of business. That saddens me a great deal, as they were my primary brand. Dark Star, Blackwoods Flake, Frog Morton series (for those few times I smoke Latakia), 5100 Red Cake, 2015 vaper, 2035 matured; all apparently relegated to good memories. I’m holding out hope that they can resolve their sourcing issues, and resume production. But I’ve heard they are closing for good. If I had any idea, I would have stocked up on all the above. They were such a big name I never thought that was even a remote possibility.
T. Cristiano briar pipe arrived today along with an adapter for not using filters. Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
That’s a nice looking pipe! Is it rusticated on part of the bowl? I have a Neerup that is partially rusticated, makes for a very good feel in the hand.
Thanks, it's also, and I'm just giving it an educated guess, half the bowl size of my H.I.S. pipe. Good for quick smokes.
I have same pipe (sans rustication) and it smokes very well especially for the price I paid from an eBay seller last year.
