I didn't think this would be your style, I was surprised when I saw your previous pic. It's not a bad aro, but there's nothing I particularly remember about it. I may still have some jarred. The only DE tin I liked enough to consider buying again was the Gatsby Luxury Flake.
OGS. The DE 7th Ave is way way too vanilla sweet for me. I wouldn't mind a good aromatic, but I am starting to think that there are not many. Ten seconds of having the tin open was about nine seconds more than enough. Ah, well. Not every good cellar idea works.
I generally smoke a pipe once or maybe twice in a day before letting it air dry for several days. As for filters, it's really not so much a matter of filter materials but more of trying both with and without filter and seeing how it effects your draw, cadence, taste, and overall experience. I'd call the different types of filters more like fine tuning.
P&C totally messed my IPSD order so badly that we just canceled and refunded. I am a bit annoyed by how they handled it, or rather, didn't handle it. I won't stop being a customer, but it was disappointing not to be able to shop the IPSD stuff easily. On a related note, may go to a couple B&Ms today to look about.
A pipe smokers forum I frequent has several of us participating in March Meerschaum Madness. Here's my small collection of meers I will be concentrating on this month.
Walked into two shops today ready to buy whatever... Nothing briar caught my eye. Bought some cleaners and bit of bulk that I happen to recognize as PS400.
Went by my favorite pipe tobbacco shop today. She was not happy about McClelland going out of business. She was also out of my favorite C&D blends. Instead I picked up H&H Louisiana Perique. I think it is actually called Louisiana Red. Packed a cob for the trip to work today. It's a nice smooth cool blend. No over the head punch of Perique. All in all a nice blend.
Oh there is plenty. Next up is something called squadron leader. A nice latakia blend. I have been away from the smokey goodness too long. Going to finish up the Orlik stuff first.
