Either it gets a bad rap or nothing at all. Some folks write it off as some el cheapo Chinese import (it may be). I owned a $5 Shaving Factory (I think) razor and it was awful. The MTO is similar in appearance but the weight and balance is miles better than my expectations.
IMHO the MTO/VDH/Weishi 9306 is a well constructed mild razor patterned after the Gillette SS safety razor. Note: I did not say the same as. I said patterned after. I learned to DE shave on it and didn't have any problems other than as a newbie I was applying too much pressure to try to make it cut my beard like a harrys 5blade cart. I did not understand how to employ the tool. In fact I will SOTD mine on MM and post it Minday afternoon. Show a little love for the thing that kicked off the path to where I am at now...I bet it will be a good shave.
I actually don't mind my Weishi and my MTO (yup, I have both and they are identical). It's not bad as a cheap mass market product from China goes. The negatives, if you ask me (and you did, LOL) are (1) the Pawn Stars guy is on the MTO box, (2) it costs $19.95 if you buy it at a CVS (about $11-12 more than it is worth, IMHO) and (3) it comes with Dorco blades. Ugh.
Great video review. You're really pleasant and fun to listen to. I am glad you enjoyed the "Bluma" Sorry I just realized I forgot to put the barbicide back in the box Also... Why is it so fun to watch other guys go through their ablutions? I really like watching what you do differently from me. You've inspired me, I think I'm going to do a video of me shaving with my Wilkinson 7 day razor since it's so unusual of a razor. From stropping it to showing the blade exposure set screw setting.
