    What I do is look at a couple of places, like Walmart and Joanne Fabrics. Then get the closest as possible as getting an exact shade is really hard to do. Another place is Hobby Lobby for some of the shinier fabrics,

    Before I gut a case, I wonder if anyone has made an outline of the fabric used for the difference cases. I have a 500B & 501 B from the late 20's, early 30's that has been gutted by a previous owner. I even have a ranger Tech case that needs some TLC and new fabric. There there is the Richwood without the cradle sitting in my, "In case I need to decompress" corner.

    I personally have never used a template. I gut it out, then carefully and slowly glue new fabric on a section at a time, then trim off the excess. These are some in my collection that I have re-lined..............

    I have seen many pictures of your work and have been thoroughly impressed. I love it. I doubt I'd match your work, but it's the effort I'm more looking forward to than anything else, if that makes sense.

    P.S. Don't be surprised if you get a PM months from now for troubleshooting or advice.

    Glad to help in any way, also in most instances, it is easier than it looks. Just don't rush the job.

    I'm always looking for something slow and cathartic. Ever tried to remove and clean the trigger group for a Beretta 81? Slow, Cathartic, and the occasional need for an exorcism. But, when it's all done, you're ready to tackle just about anything with a high degree of confidence and renewed vigor.

    I stuck to 1911's and Single Action Colts and Remingtons (vintage and replicas).

    @jimjo1031 I am impressed. :happy096: :signs107:

    You have assembled a "ton" of information here. I "found" this while searching for a link to somewhere I might find an instruction sheet for my newly received Schick E3. Didn't find that, but did find a good place to look in the future.

    Thanks for your efforts! :thanks:
