I’m beginning to have strong fears. https://www.atgshaving.com/posts/593910/ In photo it is less evident. The cartridge is practically new. After almost two weeks of daily use ...
This is what people misunderstand about hitech cartridge. https://knifesteelnerds.com/2021/01/11/what-causes-razor-blades-to-dull/ As for brush and skin, razor too needs a Kneipp treatment: • warm water, to clean the soap • cold water, to clean the limestone
Today I wanted to take this experiment to the extreme. A simple ultrasound gel, as a lubricant. A full three-pass cycle with the new Gillette Labs. https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/2080233/ I must say, I’m more and more surprised. In the worst possible conditions, the result is excellent. I took ease and depth for granted. But not comfort, especially during the day. I wouldn’t have bet a kopek full of holes. But there is. Yes, there is.
Today the result is incredible. Shaving only with water. Perfect. But especially without loss of comfort. https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/2080409/ This is the cut left in the sink. As you can see, there is only water and hair.
The synergy of hi-tech products is phenomenal. Seven Potions cream is a worthy complement. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/seven-potions.67287/ By adjusting the hydration of the foam, the cartridge flies!!! https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/2081073/
Today’s theme is comfort. https://theshaveden.com/forums/posts/2081424/ Battle between the young challenger and the champion. Fusion SkinGuard has been talked about a lot and well. But I must say, Gillette Labs doesn’t look bad at all. Full shave in three steps for each, on one side. After about ten hours the result is perfect. Frankly I do not notice differences in comfort. I wouldn’t have bet. I’m surprised. Pleasantly. Slight differences in regrowth, in favor of the new. Obviously, with more blades. So more depth. Not a lot more.

I didn't vote as I have tried two of these. Anyone remember the Schick Protector? It was a 3 blade that had little wires running perpendicular over the blades. The first image is what I remember. An online search revealed a yellow one and a blue one as well. The blade picture obviously wasn't what I used, the previous century didn't have as many choices as we have now. I only included it to see those "protectors" over the blades. It worked ok I guess. In the current year, if I tried a multi blade razor, I guess it would be the Leaf.
I can tell you that the Amazon Basics 3 bladed are NOT good. No more head shaved with those tuggy things! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They don't call them Solimo anymore? They are actually Personnas. I've used them and liked them. I still have a bunch. I only use carts now when I travel. Walmart sells them under their own name -- Equate. And so does just about every chain pharmacy. I found Personna carts to be just as good as anything from Gillette, at a fraction of the price. Why people (aka suckers) pay more is beyond me.
The best were the old Mach III models, not the new Mach 3 version but the older slide on design as it had the best shave before I found Safe-T-Shavers. Shick had an okay model with 4 blades in the Quattro but it went to crap when the part holding the blades on the blade cartage themselves was made cheaper and they were breaking so I moved on. The best multi blade disposable Was the older Wilkinson Sword/Gillette darker Royal blue 2 blade model before the companies people made the blades less sharp and then changed the handle, so the shaver was more like the old Sensor II disposable. Next in Disposable the older Personna lighter Royal Blue 2 blade before the brands people made the blades closer together so that the blades died sooner because of how hard it was to clean so instead of getting about 35 days one was having to replaces every 2.5 weeks. I stopped using disposable shavers after this point in 2017. Worst Multi blade I have ever used is the Gillette Fusion models because the way the shaver/handle connection is made sucks I had one of the Pro Styler version that I ended up only using for the styler before getting a Phillips Norelco One with the styler part. The other bad design is the Mach III Electric still in the older slide on blade that vibrated but the part that was bad was just the vibration part, I purposely broke the battery part in high school so I could use as a normal shaver. I had lost my original Mach III shaver somehow so I switched to this as Mach III Electric one where my mom of all people was instant, I use the vibration even when I was yelling: The vibration does not work you try it!. The problem was I had a hard time finding the original Mach III at the time because this new model was being pushed. The vibrations with the Mach III Electric just made the whole thing move in the hand not good for when you want a steady shave with blades. I am not sure what Gillette was thinking with the Mach III Electric and Gillette had to recall the shaver due to light electrical shock if used in the shower where I had killed the battery pack wires so I could keep dead batteries in the shaver to keep it weighted properly or it was very odd being off balance. Worst of the multi blades disposable was the Shick and Bic Flex models having used some of those because I got them to try for a Christmas gift and I found them garbage just bouncing along not cutting after the first shave that was amazing, as good as my Mach III. Problem was the blades dulled out after 1 shave for me.
There is from Thurlady a 2 blade version of the Leaf Shaver (actual name of the up to 4 blade shaver) that uses 2 of the 1/2 blade shavers. This is better from what I read in the real comments from the one person talking about this model and the Leaf Shaver if I had to use for my face. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F9FQGD5X/?tag=thshde-20 Where I lived in the USA The Schick model was marketed mainly for Schick Ladies side of things with 2 of the green pads only whereas the men's model was kind of buried in the early 2000's when I first started shaving. Anyhow I do remember seeing in the News on CNBC or possibly the old CNN on bottom ticker that the Schick brand was suing Gillette for using the same wires on a Venus model same for lesser known in USA Dorco brand because they had wires on blades for both genders. My mom was pissed the wire type was stopped at the time for Venus around 2010--2014 but then the Venus Hydro model was made with better blades soon after to where guys would buy the better made Venus blades because they fit the modern Mach 3 non disposable and cut the big strips off to use them for shaving thus prompting the Gillette company to have better quality control on the modern Mach 3 and Gillette Fusion but the older 4 blade plus hidden trimming blade.
My answer was basically none of the above, it was the Gillette Mach III not Mach 3, they are different models as one is the slide on blade model in the Mach III and Mach 3 is the clip on.
