O.K. the clear handle H.I.S. is out. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088HXMK2/?tag=thshde-20 See the review of the black handled brush here ... http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/h-i-s-synthetic-brush.28218/ ... and the additional thread here. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/new-h-i-s-shaving-brush-handle-announcement.28720/
I just can't get into the whole clear handle, I would feel like I was in the 80's in a dutch modern apartment. The brush is nice though.
POOR CHOICE OF WORDS! My heart about stopped when I saw the title. Is out?...wha...they decided not to...noooooooooooooooooooo! Oh wait, I get it now. Sooner than expected, and I get paid today...coincidence? I think not! Thanks GD for letting us know. It would look real nice with some monogrammed initials etched into the side, wouldn't it?
You know, if we could get all of our shaving hardware/software in a clear, transparent shell, it'd go a long way to making it look like we didn't have too much stuff. Wife getting on you to get rid of some stuff? Husband upset by your recent acquisition? Try our new Invisible Den shaving system!!
An invisible shaving system..hmmm..don't tell Gillette they'll want to develop one and I have enough problems seeing what I'm doing as it is...
Heresy. Shaving stuff is meant to be admired. It's kind of like cigarettes and alcohol-beautiful packaging, but the stuff you want is on the inside. I just ordered my new fake hair, invisible handled, shaving brush. I was joking earlier, but I just may have to send it out to be monogrammed. Now I just need to find a 80's new modern dutch designed apartment...or an Ikea store.
Well, for the cold shavers out there, a few clear-handled shaving items might be enough to provide them with their own winter wonderland—a fortress of solitude, if you will, where the super shavers go to recharge.
I have received a verification on the clear brush from Artist Brushstrokes that it is exactly the same dimensions as the black handled brush.
Congrats on the custom title. You may have earned that in record time! now you need to go here: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-custom-title-thread.27373/ and tell us all about it.
Ordered it Tuesday, Came home and found it in the mailbox. They shipped it in a box big enough to put 6 of them in, but who cares. No pics I'm afraid, I left the camera at the shop. First Impressions: It's big. Easily the biggest brush I own. Side by side comparison of a real silvertip- the H.I.S. brush is significantly lighter in color. The tips appear to be finer than the real stuff. It is softer and denser and stiffer than the real stuff. In short, it appears to overcome all of a real badger brush's shortcomings. The upper fourth of the handle is silver in color. The outer base of the epoxy/glue that the bristles were set in has been painted a silver color and the clear brush handle poured around it. The bottom of the glue was not painted, so you can look through the bottom of the brush and see the glued bristle ends. (heh. I can see the brush's skeleton...oooo...). I like what I see. I don't know how it lathers and since I've got to hit the road, we won't find out till tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
I too like the fact that you can see the construction and where the knot ends. Wait until you unleash The Lather Monster!
