Will We Be Having An Open Comb OCtober?

The 3 that came through this morning,if any one was wondering,were 3 restoration jobs, a USA 'Old' type,needs a tooth straightening (done) and 2 cracks in the handle sorting,(not done yet) and a replate (not done),a 1931 Gillette 'Goodwill',teeth straightening (done),2 cracks in handle (not done),replating (not done),last but not least,a Gillette UK raised bottom 'New',Fat Handled Tech version,teeth need straightening,almost done,last one is going to need the blowtorch treatment,and a replate.Got quite a few resto jobs on at the moment,but I should be able to replate them by the end of the month.

 

I've decided that I will be participating in OCtober. Here are my tools.

Gillette NEW SC

I will however be using a Birth Year Razor for my birthday.

 

How do you straighten teeth on the old types without damaging them?

Pretty easy one for me. Every day is an OC kind of day.

 

Nice razor. I picked up a Sheraton on vacation a couple weeks ago and have been dying to use mine.

 

Hey @Dzia Dzia I know that many on the 30-Day Focus Thread will be doing an OC OCtober focus...in addition to those who will do some other focus. I've got at least 4 OCs that I'll be working on this month.

I also know that in addition to focusing on SEs this past September in the 30-day thread, @GDCarrington also started a specific SE September page and we posted in both that thread and our September 30-day focus thread.

Would that make @Bama Samurai the moderator of the thread?
Nobody has chimed in on taking the lead. I would prefer some one of his community status to take charge. I'm sure there are other leaders and/or staff that could take the reins, also.
I am of least amount of experience to do something of a sort but with what I said above I was thinking of just changing the name of the thread from .."Are we?" to "We are!" because of all the responses here. Myself, I am not going to be cut and dry about it as I posted earlier I'm including other plans too.
If you find something out about leadership I will be following. It sounds like it could be another fun month.

 

Well I'm no thread leader that's for sure...

Perhaps folks should just go check out the 30-day thread and see if it works for them.

The Single Ring IS an Old Type, just a different one. Not unlike a SC New vs a LC New. This 1907 Single Ring has the thinner top (101?) than the later Old Types (like mine from the 20's) which have the thicker top (102). This is why I'm having an "Old Type October"!
