I meant it's been going on a long time. I guess I'm in. I had given up waiting for a Razorock Hawk, ordered the General and then Hawks became available again. However I don't need both, so General it is.
I meant the thread has been going on a long time. I am debating getting the silversmith handle to go with it. Did not like it's own handle.

3 shaves head+face had with the Colonial General v2 ss head, so far. Not in a row. It's paired with a RazorRock HaloTitanium handle and using Feather Pro blades. Time for a new blade I guess. I may get the Silversmith handle for it but that looks very heavy. I find it very mild but still fairly efficient, which is a good combination IMO. The head is much less deep than it looks in pictures and it gets behind my ears and around the fiddly bits very well. If I have a bad shave with another razor (sensitive skin) already I find myself going to this the next day. I had been eyeing a Vector, but will put that on hold for now. Anybody tried both?
@dvdhviid I prefer light ones. For me, the V2 head in aluminium on the V1 aluminium handle could be the ultimate choice. But It lives just in my dreams ...
I put a Titanium handle on the SS head and it is pretty well balanced. For my head I do like a lighter razor, often using my Aluminum Lupo. Not paying attention with a heavy razor can take a strip off my round noggin.
I use a very backward grip. Long and light handle is a must in this technique. Best option is a balance 1:1 as weight ratio. No other metals can give this. Just aluminium. Titanium is strong. Not so heavy as SS. But NOT light ... enough.
