Long, but fun day. Started at 6:00am and am going to bed after mid nite. The day included watching several criterium bike races.
    It was a good day.

Watching bike races are pretty fun, it's something I would have ever thought I'd enjoy.
The Amgen Tour of California is pretty cool, I've watched a couple of times through the streets of SJ.

I got to play with the leaf blower ths morning. It makes quick work of cleaning the deck. This afternoon, in delightful weather, the hubby & I went to the outdoor archery range for a shoot.

Past two weeks have been a blur - let's see if I can recall all the highlights:
two Tuesday's ago, the day before we were heading out for vacation, my back gets bad. like on the floor all day except for restroom and trying to eat. Finally that evening I'm able to move a bit, but all the packing is not getting done, so...Wednesday morning finish packing and loading, and hit the road. Back is still hurting, hard to get in and out of the Acadia, but once I do I'm fine. Just a short 8 hour trip to Mobile, no big deal .
Make it to 'Bama, visit relatives the next day, wife does some shopping, hit the beach, and family reunion over the next 3 days. Back is slowly getting better. But now for part 2 of the trip, 8+ hours to Tampa. (fun trivia - apparently in some foreign language, "Tampa" translates to "we love red lights, we hope you do too, because you'll spend more than 50% of your time here behind one)
Wife had purchased City Passes for Tampa, so we whirlwinded the Florida aquarium and the Museum of Science and Industry on Sunday, the Tampa Lowry Zoo and Busch Gardens on Monday, and then Clearwater aquarium and the beach on Tuesday, with the intent of heading back to Mobile around 3ish.
Weeeellllll, when I looked on the website to see what time Clearwater Aquarium opens, I'm greeted with the information that three of the actors from Dolphin Tale will be there (in case you don't know, Clearwater aquarium is where Winter, the dolphin with the prosthetic tail that the movie is based on, is at.) So, plans altered, we're there longer than anticipated, but my daughter got to meet the actors, get the autograph and a picture with them.
Finally hit the beach, and head back to Mobile around 9 PM. Get there around 5:30 (thank goodness for time zones or it would have been 6:30 before we arrived :happy102:)
Take a 3 hour nap, and hit the road again for Texas. With a car that now struggles to crank (had to replace battery when we got home). And an A/C that decided to blow hot air on the driver side (it's okay, it's only the deep south, during July, no bid deal).
And then, to top it all off, wake up Thursday morning to the text that one of my closest friends had passed away that morning.
So, today is Monday, and all the work backed up for me from the past two weeks is staring me in the face, but right now it's just not important.

Wow... I know that's rough. We've had a couple of near misses with my wife's dad in the past couple of years and I lost both of my first wife's parents recently in quick succession. My prayers are with you.
