Good evening fellow wetshavers I'm back after about a 4 year beard growing journey. Tonight's shave is brought to you by

Razor : Schick Injector. Type unknown yet.
    Brush: Omega Boar
    Soap: B&M Bayrum
Post shave : Osma alum block
Post shave splash : Ogallala Bay Rum in Lime and Peppercorn scent..
Gotta say I love the old school wet shave even after all these years away.

I’m guessing that from the side your unknown razor looks like this. If so, congrats - that’s a coveted Schick E1. One of the best shaves out there IMHO. :happy088:

@Karl G yes my razor looks exactly like the one you pictured. I was just looking through some other posts about injector identification . I was thinking that it was a type E1 thank you for confirming that. It is a wonderful razor I totally enjoy using. Thanks Ken P.

Today's GeMonday shave was a comparison between the first and second generation Gem Featherweight. @Droo78 noticed the differences and @Ron R brought them to my attention.

A well used Meijer branded SS Accu TEC blade was shared between the two razors.

Lather was provided by a wonderful thick creamy Tabac on a RazoRock boar brush.

The shave was finished of with a splash of Whitch hazel.

The second Gen was up first and handled the left side neck and the left cheek above my beard line. A two pass shave first WTG then ATG for testing purposes was used.

The blade was then switched to the first Gen Featherweight and the same procedure was used on the right side.

There were not drastic differences between the two but the remaining stubble on the left (second Gen) side was longer and slightly more noticeable. Neither side was socially acceptable with two passes and a well worn blade on my neck. However my cheeks (were the shaving is always easier) are perfectly acceptable.

I did a third pass to clean up the visible stubble for a socially acceptable end result.

I will do this comparison again on my next shave with a new blade to see how big an improvement that makes. Personally if I could only keep one of the razors I'd keep the 1st Gen. but I definitely like using both.

I enjoy Shaving with this General now I have settled on this non stock handle. The Shave was very smooth and trouble free with a good enough finish, but never matches the quality of finish that I get with other Razors.

The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with Tom's 3D Printed Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A1 with a Gem Blue Star SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thank you. It will be interesting to do my next comparison with a fresh blade and the same method of testing. I generally pay very little attention to how many passes a shave is and just shave until I'm done going over problem areas 4 to 5 times and maybe only going over others only 1 or 2 times.

Adjusted the guard for more exposure this time. Definitely more blade feel but the cut was about the same as the previous shave with the guard set for minimal exposure. I don't know if it is the blade or razor that is the limiting factor here but either way I am finished with using this wedge blade and will try again at this setting with a Gem blade next.
