Too many places to post this 30-day adventure with the C1. Future posts will be on the Schick Repeating Razor Owners Club (SRROC) thread.

I have been reading so much about the Homemade Injector that I've had the Type H on my mind for some days (the H inspired some of the design of the Bunny.) I was also curious if it's superbly close shave on its maiden shave was just a fluke or the real thing. So, out it came today.

Well, it anything, it was as good as or better than last time. Just as close and easy to use and smooth as I remember. This time there was a little less clogging as I changed lathers and it was less thick than before. It was a great match for the H. :happy088:

Not much to add. If you don't have an H you should get one. Yes, YMMV and all that but this is one outstanding razor. :happy036:

Cool....yeah, I have to recommend to all my friends....if you run across any Long's Drugs/Personna blades, get them...They are good...(man I hate spell check....I fixed it though)

And congrats Billy....I'd love to see your E2 that we are talking about...I know you have some E2 beauties...It's funny, the E2 is such a regular razor, but also soo special aswell....I can't get enough of them...I think they are probably the quintessential Schick for me....when I think of Schick, thats the first razor to pop into my mind....And those butterscotch handles are my favorite razor handle period!

@Billyfergie , how bout an E2 group shot of your beauties?....Can you fit them all into one photo? :happy097:

This is day 6 with my Schick E3. It is a good shaver. No nicks, cuts, maybe a bit abrasive. I have one more shave with this razor before I switch to my new Gillette Black Tip. I have a Schick G coming tomorrow. I will probably use it starting the 15th. Anyone want to compare the E and the G? What should I expect?

The G is a milder razor. You may find that more to your liking. If it is too mild load a cut down Feather AC. That will spice it up for you.

The G Type should offer more audible feedback than the Type E..They are more intuitive to use as well I reckon..It may feel more aggressive because of the feedback buts its a bit milder than the Type E 3..;)

I am thinking next month (or it could be March) will be my month using some injectors for an extended period. I have a Canadian E, a G1, and a Golden 500. I have some of the Chinese Schick blades from my first use of the G months ago. What blades should I try other than the Chinese Schicks? I have seen posts about going through the medical supply companies and getting Personna blades, but there seem to be several types of similar blades and none have the dispenser with a key (I assume the Chinese Schick one I have can just be refilled?). Are there specific ones I should look at? For example are the Personna Stainless Steel Surgical Prep Blades from HERE the ones people are talking about using?

Thanks for suggestions on other blades. I want to try all the razors but also sample some of the available blades out there.

Some of the Med/prep blades are not multifaceted edge blades...I don't know why folks bother with all that stuff because you can buy the proper Personna/Pells blades very cheap in the proper magazines...:)

Acquired these two Valet A.S. razors (Yet to identify exact models) as part of a package buy.
Issue being that I need different proper blades and don't know if they are worth the expense. Any shave experience with these Valet A.S.. One is made in Canada the other in U.S.A.
I have GEM SE blades but they have spines. These blades seem similar but without the spines.
Vaet-AS.jpg Pictured here prior to cleaning
They look and feel solid. Heads seem big though.

The pictures aren't the clearest but I believe that the one on the left is a VB1 and the one on the right is a VC2. Both are good shavers with the VB1 being seriously aggressive and the VC2 more middle of the road. A Gem blade can be modified to fit the VB1 by removing the spine and breaking off the corner tabs. It takes less time to do this than it took me to type it. Do a YouTube search for Valet Auto-Strop and you will find videos showing how to do this - it's really easy.

Feather makes a blade that will definitely fit the VB1 and *probably* fit the VC2. This is the blade that the OneBlade uses, so you can try out this blade without dropping $300.

Some of the vintage blades can even be used if they have been stored properly, but you'll need a strop. They were meant to be stropped, even before the first shave.

These are fascinating razors and fun to collect. I like to leave on on the shaving stand when we have houseguests, which invariably provokes a "What on earth is that thing?" followed by "You mean you actually shave with it?"

@spidey9 Thanks for your in depth feedback. Will definitely look into modifying a Gem blade. Guess it more dignified than begging for a feather blade PIF.
Will have to post better pictures.

    What he said.....
Parallel to the floor...yep! This will become nature feeling very quickly...that large square handle actually will make it easier after you get over that counter intuitive feeling of not thinking injector/hoe...

I think the 'G's are fantastic....Let's see.....I agree with all previously said....and I feel the G to be a tad milder than the E2 but more agressive than the I types....Less agressive than the E2 BUT I find the E2 to be a tad smoother...But in these type things, the YMMV factor is very high....

But suffice it to say, if I could only use an E or a G type every day for the rest of my life...I would still consider myself a lucky man.....with a huge supply of great blades that is....}8^))
