The foremast and mizzenmast flags stand out straight and there are 2 of them. The ship also has a little anchor hanging from the bow. (1973-1976). Styrofoam packaging was introduced in 1975.

@Jayaruh made up some handles and I got one unfinished and did my own design on it.

Making her first appearance in the Den is my long sought after 1912 Sun Ray aka The Goddess. I need to do a little more research to find out what blades were used when she was made - the thicker spine traditional SE or the modern thinner spine. The blade holders are filled with the thicker version so I assume those are what was intended. This set is virtually NOS so they might even be the originals.

So, I shaved with a vintage SE blade - stropped with my new Best-Tiz stropper :) - and it was a bit rough. Maybe it was just the quality of the blade dealing with 2 and half days of growth. To test this I played around with using a modern GEM with a shim as well. By the second pass the differences were less obvious - except the NOS blade was a lot noiser.

All in all, a lovely shave from a real beauty. :happy036:

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the B 400 badger brush by Tom. I did the two passes with the Ever-Ready 1914 and CVS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... The ER14 used to be a very aggressive razor for me, but I have learned to tame it. Riding the cap with a light touch does the trick.

Well today is Williams Wednesday and to fall in line and be a conformist I used pure Williams. Well, almost. I added a little bit of Stetson AS to the cake to give it a little more of a scent. The Williams and synthetic brush whipped quite a lather. A great start to what ended up being a stellar shave.

Perry, that sounds like you have a winning combination. I've never tried Pharoah's Dreamsicle. How would you describe it?

To me it's strong on the orange with a few other things thrown in. Rod at Stirling describes it this way:

King Tut came to me in a dream and....no, no he didn't. Mandy and I were vacationing in Cairo and....no, no we weren't. Fine. We were messing around with essential oils and trying to come up with something to replace our Vanilla Tangerine soap, and this is it. It's a blend of Sweet Orange, Blood Orange, Vanilla, and Egyptian Musk. It's awesome and a very unique take on the old orange creamsicle.

I don't detect as much of the blood orange or vanilla. Maybe a little of the musk. To me it's a big orange scent tempered by a little of the ingredients he mentions. It's nice but is perhaps the least favorite Stirling scent I have at the moment. I'll try it again later this month and make a determination.
