Today is the last day of Open Comb OCtober. I have spent the last month minus 5 shaves using my Autostrop Valet VC2 with a carbon steel blade. Today's shave was another very good 3 pass shave. You could classify it either a very high DFS or a low BBS. Stropped the blade fifteen time before and another ten after the shave. Finished the shave with some vintage Avon Wild Country AS.

For those of you who think of the ER1924 as a bit scary,I can confirm that by adding a 1/2 spine shim under the spine, the Razor is transformed. The Shave was unbelievably smooth yet really effective, pleased to say that the
Shave attained was top notch, almost as the one with the Streamline yesterday. Those who are sceptical should give it a try.

A new month and a new razor, at least compared to the razors I have been using. I also decided to use the after shave that is only 20yrs old compared to the Avon that is 40yrs old. Did 3 passes that left me BBS finished off with some Stetson AS and I'm now ready for the day.

    Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
    Brush: Omega Boar Brush 81064
    Soap: Palmolive Stick
Razor: Black Aluminium General w/ Stainless Steel Handle, Colonial Razors
Blade: Kai Pink, Kai Captain Titan Mild (7)
Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse and Tribute After Shave, Avon Touring T Decanter

I reached into the back of my soaps this morning and pulled out the Palmolive Stick. I have used this stick a couple of times before but not that often. Though I don't know why it gave me a great lather this morning. Oh wait, I know why I don't use it that often, I got it at about the same time as my first stick of Arko, and the Arko is an easier soap to apply as it is softer than Palmolive. The Palmolive does have a nice "GREEN" scent. I know, I know, What does "GREEN" smell like. Well something like Irish Spring soap without smelling like Irish Spring. I found on a forum where someone said that Palmolive smelled of Gucci Nobile, but I can not find an official description of the scent other then "clean" and "soap". So there you have it Green smells like clean soap.

Now back to the shave. I did two passes with the General this morning that left me with another damn near BBS shave. If I would have done the third pass it would have been BBS but alas I only did two so the shave ended up between DFS and BBS. I finished off the shave with what I believe to be my oldest AS, Tribute by Avon. Given the age of the AS, some where between 45-55 years old, 3hrs after applying it I can't smell it any more and I am not about to ask one of my co-workers if they can smell it on me. Another day, another great shave. I can't wait till tomorrow to do it all again.

It’s been a long time since I used my Bunny and even longer since using the V2. Wow! Quite possibly the smoothest and closest shave you can get. Why did I wait? :happy036:
