Wow. I had no idea it took so much time and effort. (I've never truly shaved my scalp.)

Me too! You changed my results for the better with the no-stress Baseball pattern! Thanks!

You're exactly right, a straight kinda screams at you for a millisecond before you bleed. Despite the scary appearance, I am finding straights to be quite forgiving and comfortable.

    Nice razor! ;)

Thanks for contributing so much about New Forest. It's a brand not often talked about here, and it was cool to see your analysis and the evolution of the product. Thanks for hanging out with us!

    Beautiful straight. Simply beautiful.

    @ob1page @J.R.

Whipped dog was my first SR shave true. Keith is right in recommending it.

Ahh, I've been using a similar technique.
Should it be called the @Norcalnewb Baseball Pattern?

Welcome to the 30 Day Crew!

I am a big proponent of the strict rule for learning. It eliminates variables and allows you to break the technique down for ease of analysis. Many if us here have mastered and love the Fatboy, And by 30 March, you are going to master it also. I look forward to watching it happen!

It should, and I've been openly crediting him on multiple threads. So simple, so smart.

I or things I have said have been described as simple many times, smart not so much.

I am definitely happy that this works for you, Chris and @RyX. It really is just how I seem to relate lots of things, and seemed natural to me here, so it did just simply pop out.

Yeah, it's a confidence thing for sure. It's not pressure toward my skin, I need more pressure in the direction the blade is moving (sometimes). It's just all new stuff, get used to where the blade is, where it's going - is my ear in that path? I agree, big steps and pauses happens with me too, I'm sure this won't be a lot different. Thanks!

I will adopt this term to give credit where it is due. It is a helpful technique without doubt.

Haha, yeah, it's almost a 'Are you sure you want me to cut you?' feeling.

Do you mean a heavier blade? I am considering giving one a try. Before I held a straight the first time, I expected them to weigh more than they do.

First of all @Bama Samurai I would appreciate that you don't post pictures of my family. :happy097:
March Focus for me will be on soaps, brushes and building a good lather. It's plain and it's simple, however, I need to Focus on this. It has come to me that when you Focus on one area it can draw your attention to other areas that need your attention.

    Straights Focus March 1:

    VDH Boar Brush
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
Henry Sears and Son Queen 3/4
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Brut Classic AS

After whipping up some nice, slick lather, I got a nice one pass shave. I would rate it as a CCS. The Henry Sears and Son razor is smooth, and I really like the width. It makes for a good wake up to get me moving on a less than full night of sleep. Have a great Tuesday.
