NB '16 ?

Today I purchased a large tub of Noxema Classic...and I believe that is it! I have everything I need. Now I just need willpower and resolve and I should be fine.

 

T-Minus 51 hrs and counting...

 

So I told my wife I'm in for NB'16. Trades are still OK, so I should survive. To keep the edge off, in the last three days I have ordered 7 aftershaves, 10 Vintage American Straight Razors, a cased Blue Tip, and a Dubl Duck aluminum brush. Wheee....

I am excluding restoration supplies for my straights from No Buy. (Hones are not restoration supplies.)

 

I initially read that to say " I was told by the wife I'm in for NB'16" That sounds like my house.

 

I actually told her No Buy January, and she suggested 2016. Sometimes it's better to just go with it.

 

I have a feeling online vendors will see a surge of orders today!
I'm forgoing my last chance.

 

Got a little bounce out of this. My wife committed to "No Buy January 2016" on QVC. I prolly have better odds at no NB16 than she does on NB January.

 

I ordered some cologne, and a shaving cream. I didn't really need to, but it was my favorite shaving cream, and I didn't want to be without it for a year. I am low on cologne too, so I scarfed up some. I should be ready for the next year now.

 

I have a brush handle inbound, and I don't know what size knot to order for it. Since I traded for the brush in 2015, I'm not going to sweat it, and will order in 2016.

 

I've refined my collection to vintage Gillettes, but it remains a modest collection limited to the designs that I like the best.

 

Leo...me too. Except for a Schick Krona, all of my razors are vintage Gillette. I tried EJ/Muhle/Parker/Merkur razors and disposed of all. None, for me, compare to the old Gillette razors.

 

I'm not committing to NB '16, but I don't anticipate very many purchases unless one of my White Whales comes up for sale.

I have kinda sorta had an itchy finger tonight but am hanging tough. My son got me a nice tub of Cedar/Rosemary cream for Christmas. Would be dumb to add any more gear tonight. Any type of gear.

 

Still have 90 minutes to binge. Unless of course, you set your clock to PST.

 

If strictly DE razors I could live with only vintage Gilletes. That being said I'm a big fan of the vintage injectors (only tried Schick's). Nice change in the rotation.
(Current list being paired down.... goal....fact may vary.)

Put yourself on the waiting list/pre-order for something that wont be ready for months? That way you buy it now...but it will be something new and fun deep into 2016

 

I'm on one list already, so I guess I'm good to go.

 

Okay, only one more thing... some CRSW version and their new tonic and lotion. Whew. Now I'm ready.
